Reporting directly to the Director of Business Applications, this position’s primary objective is the responsibility for daily triage & management of application support issues as part of the IT Business Applications team. This position will work closely with members of the Business Applications team and other extended IT staff to troubleshoot and fix problems with internal applications and execute on day-to-day support activities. The ideal candidate is detailed oriented and has a passion for helping people. He/she has a technical acumen and is interested in identifying the root cause of repeated issues in order to improve our users’ experiences.
What you will be doing:
Provide troubleshooting for internal applications and store retail applications.
Provide day-to-day assistance on repeatable processes that require some manual intervention and validation.
Use an incident tracking system to record, maintain and close support tickets according to service level agreements.
Lead the triage, prioritization, and escalation of support tickets for the business applications team.
Assign and manage the workload of the support team.
Establish and document standard operating procedures (SOPs
Correct system data issues through heavy use of SQL scripting.
Provide support services for production IT systems.
Investigate reported issues and identify, execute, and verify solutions.
Identify underlying business enhancements for intake into the product backlog.
Document findings, trends, outcomes and solutions with Service Desk incidents.
Maintain knowledge base of support information, known issues, and solutions.
Define and maintain support and escalation procedures in response to system changes.
Facilitate regular meetings with various support teams to share knowledge and ensure support processes are efficient and effective.
Support critical go-live activities when new systems or functionality is deployed.
Participate in project planning, development and testing activities as required.
Junior developer activities may include, but not be limited to:
Design of application interface, application functionality and database.
Design and develop databases, primarily in Microsoft SQL Server
What you must have:
BA in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent required
1-3 years relevant experience in a business application support role
Strong customer service, teamwork and communication skills
Detail oriented with superb organization skills
Ability to quickly understand business processes and applications and achieve results in a highly technical operating environment
Knowledge of SQL scripting database required (SQL Server, Database maintenance, Performance Tuning and Maintenance)
Knowledge of basic scripting (batch scripts, PowerShell, etc a strong plus
1 year of software development (ASP.NET, C
Excellent problem solving abilities
Ability to organize and prioritize individual workload in order to meet required deadlines.
Familiarity with the ITIL model for IT processes.
