As the fully qualified supervisor level of the supply chain family the focus of this position is to independently take responsibility for varied assignments requiring a broad or specialized understanding of supply chain management that support business unit supply chain requirements, e.g providing supply chain expediting and logistics support throughout the planning, design, procurement, construction and start-up/close-out stages of the project lifecycle within assigned engineering and construction units.
Manage all associated vendor equipment documentation between the vendor and the Engineering Consultant to ensure prompt review & approval periods.Regular review of vendor fabrication schedules, Inspection and Test Plans Inspection Reports and other pertinent vendor and PO data.Mitigate any fabrication delays and perform site visits as required.Ensure that all final vendor data is received and turned over as required by the project.Create and manage the Logistics Plan and develop the logistics strategy.Report on equipment status and progress regularly.Work to resolve freight claims, investigate quantity shortages/overages, shipment errors, tagging issues.Identify and Flag potential Commercial issues.Identify and flag potential technical issues with regard to Schedule delays and commercial changes.Visit Vendors to confirm Schedules and Reports.Provide guidance to junior employees .Manage equipment purchase orders to ensure on-time readiness and delivery to site in line with the project and construction schedule.Requisitions for services to support logistics plan. (i.e. trucking, warehousing, brokers, logistical surveying, etcCoordinate all the trucking/logistics for delivery of equipment to site and coordinate with construction at site to ensure readiness and proper equipment is available for off-loading shipment.Work closely and communicate regularly with the Buyer, Inspection Coordinator and the Engineering Consultant’s document control.Ensure Logistics team understands transportation and logistics issues concerning duties/customs regulations, IncoTerms, modes of transport (e.g over-dimensional and regulatory environments.Review Logistics plans and identify issues or deficiencies that represent risk to Enbridge and influence to implement change as required.Review construction and engineering designs and identify the appropriate modes of transportation for major materials to be transported.Assist EPC to identify and develop risk mitigation plans for transportation of major materials and ensure that route studies are completed and are comprehensive in order to mitigate project risk.Govern Logistics activities according to Logistics plan and ensure compliance to regulatory body requirements, monitor and assess carrier performance and ensure that all carriers selected meet prequalification criteria.Ensure effective coordination of Logistics team with project site team to ensure shipping schedules meet construction requirements and to ensure organizational readiness to receive all materials and equipment.Pro-actively ensure Logistics team adherence to timelines and construction / project schedules.Develop and finalize Transportation and Logistics plans as required.Support continuous improvement initiatives across all aspects of Logistics within Major Projects.
Minimum 10 years of experience in Transportation, Logistics and Expediting management with increasing levels of responsibility on large scale 500M or more) Oil & Gas/Mining projects.Post-secondary Business or Supply Chain Management background required.Leadership and management experience required.Experience with/in EPC/M firms preferred.Oil & Gas, Mining, and/or Construction industry experience preferred.Experience in any of the following areas is considered an asset:
Major Project construction
International logistics (rail and overseas port-to-port logistics)
Preparation and management of transportation requirements, including transportation of over-sized loads
Creation of detailed and complex route studies
Interaction with government transportation agencies (i.e. U.S. Department of Transportation and Transport Canada)
Fabrication and assembly
Seasoned Logistics professional with heavy/dimensional load experience.Experience in performance of detailed and complex route studies along with strong ability to define logistics issues and risks.Strong capability and background in securing over dimensional load permits.Experience handling overseas heavy/dimensional loads a definite asset.Strong Project Management capabilities.Background in logistics costs control and stewardship.Strong relational skills and ability to govern contractor logistics activities (planning and executingExperience in contract management will be a definite asset.Team player with ability to resolve conflicts and challenges through collaboration.Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
