Description:

"We inspire confidence in the hearts and minds of our members to live their best life"

DIRECTOR, DRIVER EDUCATION

You understand that knowledge is a powerful thing – and for you, there’s nothing more fulfilling than developing breakthrough strategies and processes (or enhancing existing ones) that will help bring valuable knowledge to others. And of course, you also have a whole lot of experience and proof that you know how to get results over the short- and long-terms. As Director of Driver Education, you’ll oversee a team of people across our Novice and Fleet operations, the Alberta Impaired Drivers Program (AIDP) and Aging Drivers program.

What moves you

You’re a spirited team leader who knows how to motivate your team to get results

A visionary and forward thinker, you love the challenge of finding new ways to educate new customers and keep existing customers engaged

You’re part diplomat, part negotiator and part facilitator – and you know how to successfully navigate political waters

You’re both a right- and left-brained thinker. Your innovative side is balanced by your quantitative analytical abilities.

You have a love for learning and education – not just for others, but also for yourself

What you’ll do

You’ll be responsible for the overall performance of AMA Driver Education, including revenue growth and maximizing net income

You’ll be accountable for short- and long-term results – and will report those results to senior executives and boards

You’ll ensure that our Driver Education program delivers an innovative, high-quality experience to members and customers of all ages

From time to time, you’ll be required to represent AMA at CAA/AAA levels, within the community and media

You’ll be responsible for increasing overall effectiveness, efficiency and profitability through operational improvements and smart resourcing

Assess business risks, and ensure safe work practices

You’ll be responsible for 4 direct reports and approximately 70 staff overall.

What you’ve done

You have a degree in business management.  If your degree is in something else, tell us how it will help you in this role

You’re no newbie – you already have 10 years of experience in a senior management role

You know all the ins and outs of major fleet operations and driver learning. Bonus if you have experience in the area of aging drivers

You’ve got solid experience in the development and management of short- and long-term operation and financial plans

You know how to get big results in a short amount of time

You come from a customer service-driven environment and strive to ensure that customers always come first
