As a Manager of Subcontracts you will lead and supervise construction cost forecasting activities and subcontracting of construction contracts within multiple module yard projects.
Leads the subcontracting activities in respect of all designated bid and delivery programs and be responsible for supporting the commercial objectives within the module construction organization.
Responsible for all external interfaces to subcontractors and/or clients throughout the entire Project Life Cycle, encompassing the construction tendering, cost estimate, negotiation and contract formulation and subsequent management of subcontracts of high complexity.
Assess risk and initiate action to mitigate risk at all phases of subcontract formation, performance and close-out
Prepare RFPs tailored to specific requirements; evaluate subcontractor proposals, develop negotiation strategy in concert with Program Managers, and lead negotiations; prepare subcontract documentation to include in-depth cost/price analyses
Monitor subcontractor performance and initiate corrective action if performance falters; execute contract modifications in response to changing requirements; and perform close-out activities
Provide advice and support to Program Managers and Cost Estimators in developing proposals, including developing Basis of Estimates (BOEs)
Provide advice and support in developing Statements of Work (SOW); source selection criteria and performing source selections
Provide guidance on financial and contractual matters pertaining to contracts
Independently conceive of and lead special projects and process improvement activities with organization-wide impact
Chairing regularly scheduled Subcontract Status Reviews
Post-secondary education in engineering and/or business administration
Minimum 5 to 10 years’ experience in contracts / subcontracts in Oil/Gas & Petrochemical industry
Working experience in Oil and Gas Industry and extensive familiarity on drafting of contracts and handling exceptions
Knowledge of Commercial Law and international contract forms is mandatory
Drafting and interpretation skills related to contract clauses and letters
Excellent leadership skills, good presentation and negotiation skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office is mandatory
Knowledge of Oracle would be a definite asset
Excellent spoken and written language skills with English
