Senior Software Developer - Mobile
Who we're seeking:
The Functional Channel team is on the lookout for creative and experienced mobile application developers that are passionate about developing best-in-class applications. We want individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit who can collaborate with stakeholders and execute on ideas with agility. If working on items related to mobile development, online security and user experience invokes excitement within, then we'd love to hear from you!
This position is responsible for the design and enhancement of the Mobile Banking Platform including the look and feel of the UI, security, performance, and the integration of both back end services and device specific capabilities. It will also include the evaluation of 3rd party tools & frameworks, defining best practices and helping establish a roadmap for the platform.
You will find success based on your abilities in the following areas:
Interact with other IT Development and Operations departments to clarify and build applications that meet a business unit's objectives.
You will work directly with Solution Architects, other Programmer Analysts, Quality Assurance Analysts, Project Managers, Project Analysts, and Business Analysts to design, develop, and document new and maintain existing business applications.
Act as a technical subject matter expert with regards to programming, system design, and development related activities. This may include code and design reviews within a project team.
Prepare plans for application construction, implementation and ongoing system support.
Create and vet use case/requirements specifications.
Provide work estimates to managers and project managers as requested. This may include working with Programmers to develop such estimates.
Evaluate candidate technologies and tools for use in systems design, construction, and integration.
Assist in the development, implementation, and adherence of systems development methodologies within projects.
Construct new applications, interfaces and maintenance changes.
Ensure data integrity and accuracy.
Prepare system documentation and training material.
As the ideal candidate you posses:
You have a passion for everything mobile; you understand the capabilities of mobile devices and know how to make the best use of them.
You have ideas about using Passport, Google Wallet and Apple Pay to build a world class experience for users.
You have experience working with at least one of the following:
Objective-C and the Apple iOS SDK
Java and the Android SDK
You have experience working with Mobile Web technologies and native-web hybrid techniques.
Experience with XML, JSON and web service integration.
Understand the software development life cycle.
Above average analytical, problem solving and attention-to-detail skills.
Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
You have good communication skills (both verbal and non-verbal) for when a phone call is faster or a translation from technical to business lingo is required.
Recognized Information Technology training ? university/ college/ technical school or equivalent experience.
Three (3 years experience developing for mobile devices.
Eight (8 years IT development and analysis experience.
Previous financial industry experience would be an asset.
